Fundraising for a building or to purchase a vehicle or equipment – a capital campaign – follows a defined and focused strategy. This process of raising money to (generally) buy or build something, has evolved into the tried, tested and globally recognised capital campaign processes as carried out today. Adhering to proven capital campaign methods, systems and techniques will substantially increase the success of any planned campaign. Capital campaigns are not ‘ordinary fundraising’. They are short or medium term and have a beginning, middle and end. Their success or failure depends on senior management involvement/commitment and they may include volunteers on a short to medium term basis. Jill and the Papillon team have conceptualised and managed many capital campaigns.
