Funding Planning

Following on from the popular course, Funding Audits & New Sources, this course takes delegates through the stages of developing a planning document for resourcing their organisations. This invaluable course includes the skills, systems and methods to produce a detailed plan to resource an organisation in the short, medium and longer term. Delegates are encouraged to use real factors within their own organisations as they develop their plans to guide their funding (from numerous sources) to ensure the vital factor of broadening the donor base is constantly borne in mind.

Most importantly, Jill will address the oft-confused ‘strategy’ and ‘planning’: a plan is not a strategy. Many plans fail simply as these two are misunderstood.

Topics covered include:

  • Why plan?
  • Know your organisation’s needs
  • Is your organisation ready to plan?
  • The difference between planning and strategising
  • Planning to plan
  • Considering sources of funding
  • Flawed funding plans – what to avoid
  • The funding planning process
  • The elements of a funding plan
  • Funding action plan template
